photo reel 2: on the deck (details)

I was travelling by ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island. Everyone watched from the wake of the ferry to the horizon, looking for whales or some other marine life to make an appearance.

I was fascinated by all the little details of the ferry, and the mid-day light was amazing. So, I got my camera out of its bag and started shooting the gear and nooks and crannies around the deck. I must have looked quite odd.

Sometimes I feel like I am drawn to things that people either take for granted or miss entirely, while repelled from all of the trappings of life that most people seem unable to live without.

On this ferry, like in most other social hubs, I am alone — and yet I feel like I have a special relationship with my local environment.
